My friend Toni, who is an incredible activist, academic, and individual, needs some help. After having to take medical leave this past spring, she only recently learned that she has been readmitted to Williams College for the fall semester.

Unfortunately, although Toni has been working for the last month and a half, she has consistently been paying for her weekly medical appointments, gas money, other forms of transportation, food, clothing for work, and some of her mother’s bills throughout her 4-month medical leave since. Because Toni comes from a low-income household, this has burned a pretty significant hole in her savings. Before returning to Williams, Toni needs to purchase essential items to sustain herself — physically and mentally — before returning to school as well as any other items she may need once she returns to campus.

She also faces the extra hardship of needing to purchase a car in the next few weeks, so that she will be able to transport herself to/from home during breaks and throughout the Berkshire County area while at school for her own mental health needs.

I do not say this lightly: Toni is one of the bravest people I have ever met. She is not only incredibly intelligent, ambitious, and talented, but she dedicates so much of herself to helping those at Williams who are underserved, silenced, or actively harmed by the institution. Toni has done so much to make Williams College a better place, and she deserves to feel love and support in this difficult time. 

Please donate so that Toni can have some peace of mind in her return to Williams.
