Hallo und willkommen auf der Projektseite unseres Abschlussfilms TONI!

Wir sind ein Team von Studierenden der Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF und weiteren Filmemacher*innen aus Berlin / Potsdam und drehen im August und September für elf Tage unseren Abschlussfilm TONI. Neben Anita, Johann, Milena und Pauline besteht unser Team aktuell aus zwanzig weiteren Menschen, die alle viele Monate Arbeit und ganz viel Herzblut in dieses Projekt stecken.

Worum geht es?

TONI (30) lebt bei ihrer MUTTER, die unter einer Angststörung leidet und nicht mehr aus dem Haus geht. Als Toni deshalb allein auf der Hochzeitsfeier ihrer kleinen SCHWESTER erscheint, ist sie den Erwartungen und Meinungen der Familie ausgesetzt – die jedoch nicht ahnt, dass die Mutter per Telefon zugeschaltet ist. Toni flüchtet sich in eine Affäre, doch als diese unterbrochen wird, stellen sich plötzlich immense Fragen. Auf die Liebe!

Warum ist dieser Film wichtig?

Psychische Erkrankungen betreffen viele Menschen – direkt oder indirekt. Trotzdem wird in vielen Familien nicht offen darüber gesprochen. Die Folgen davon reichen von Isolation bis zu Überforderung und Beziehungsabbrüchen.

„TONI“ beleuchtet ein Thema, das oft tabuisiert wird:

Was bedeutet familiäre Verantwortung – und wo endet sie?

Wie wirken sich gesellschaftliche Erwartungen an Frauen auf persönliche Entscheidungen aus?

Wir wollen einen Film schaffen, der diese Fragen stellt – und zum Nachdenken anregt, ohne zu werten oder zu dramatisieren.

Hello and welcome to the project page for our graduation film TONI!

We are a team of students from the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and other filmmakers from Berlin/Potsdam, and we will be shooting our graduation film TONI for eleven days in August and September. In addition to Anita, Johann, Milena, and Pauline, our team currently consists of twenty other people, all of whom have put many months of work and a lot of heart and soul into this project.

What is it about?

TONI (30) lives with her MOTHER, who suffers from an anxiety disorder and no longer leaves the house. When Toni therefore appears alone at her little SISTER's wedding party, she is exposed to the expectations and opinions of her family – who have no idea that her mother is connected by telephone. Toni takes refuge in an affair, but when it is interrupted, immense questions suddenly arise. Here's to love!

Why is this film important?

Mental illness affects many people – directly or indirectly. Nevertheless, in many families it is not talked about openly. The consequences range from isolation to excessive demands and broken relationships.

“TONI” sheds light on a topic that is often taboo:

What does family responsibility mean – and where does it end?

How do societal expectations of women affect personal decisions?

We want to create a film that asks these questions – and encourages reflection without judging or dramatizing.
