Tonga Tsunami Relief Effort

The tragic Hunga Tonga Volcanic Eruption and Tsunami devastated the Tongan Islands on January 14th, 2022 leaving families displaced, food scarce as crops were destroyed and a terrifying low water supply. As many of the Tongan people ran to higher ground, they couldn't help but look back and see their homes being swept out to sea. Once the tsunami subsided the devastation set in with many families scattered about the island. It was a plea of crying Mothers and Fathers to find their missing children and family. Once families were reunited it was time for them to return to their home only to find thick layers of ash covering every inch of their home, their goods and sadly their crops.

Tonga now faces a FOOD SHORTAGE due to their crops being destroyed by the volcanic eruption. Without being able to eat the food they've spent the last year growing, it leaves the Tongan people without food to feed their family. They are in desperate need of HELP! We are humbling asking for ANY donations you and your family can spare. ANY DOLLAR HELPS!

Please note- This GoFundMe has been created on behalf of the Seattle Tongan Community efforts who met Sunday 1/23/2022 to discuss and organize efforts to gather and send food and supplies. ALL funds raised will go directly to the Tongan People by way of purchased food, goods and other necessary supplies which will be shipped directly to Tonga.
