In 2016 Tonesha was at the bus stop on her way home from work when she was struck by a stray bullet. At the time, she was a new mother of a four month old baby boy. That day changed the course of her life forever.
Tonesha graduated from high school 2019 in spite of diminishing hope as result of her paralysis. She achieved this goal during a very hard time in life.
This year, 2020, tragedy struck again when her 4 year old son became a victim twice due to gun violence.
Tonesha lost her sons dad in May 28th of 2020. At the height of quarantine Tonesha was left a new single mother to her now four year old son.
Tonesha has been struggling to get back and forth to college. Her paralysis has made her confined to her house and her top goal right now isto buy a car with accessibility features. This will help her and her son better their situation.
Tonesha could drive prior to her accident and yearns for the freedom and independence of being able to transport herself.
“This fundraiser is owned and controlled by
Tonesha Peake directly.”
