“Strike up, pipers!”

ToneelTroep is terug! De Bergse bende van ‘the Bard’ staat weer klaar om in 2026 een nieuwe klassieker van William Shakespeare tot leven te brengen. Na een bloedstollende vertolking van de duistere tragedie Macbeth, belichten we nu een aanzienlijk lichter, luchtiger en romantischer werk: de komedie Much Ado About Nothing. We ruilen bloed in voor bruiloften, manie voor muziek, dood en doemscenario’s voor drama en dansfeesten!

In het lokaal-wereldberoemde theater ‘de Maagd’, op 20 en 21 juni 2026, zet ons gezelschap voor drie voorstellingen lang een verhaal neer over onuitgesproken liefde verstopt in sarcastische opmerkingen; over het gevaar van goedgelovig zijn in de buurt van een kwaadaardige prins; en over dat zelf verliefd zijn bijna net zo leuk is als je bekvechtende vrienden verliefd op elkaar laten worden!

ToneelTroep is back! The 'Bardic band from Bergen op Zoom’ will be back in 2026 to bring another timeless play of William Shakespeare's to life! After a terrifying rendition of the dark tragedy of Macbeth, we now clear the stage for a significantly more vibrant, jolly and romantic work: the comedy of Much Ado About Nothing. We trade betrayals for betrothals, murder for music, doom and dread for drama and dancing!

In our locally world-famous theater 'de Maagd', on June 20th and 21st of 2026, shall our company give a total of three performances of a tale about unspoken affection hidden within sarcastic remarks; about the dangers of gullibility in the presence of a deceitful prince; and about the fact that being in love is almost as fun as manipulating your squabbling friends into falling in love with each other!

Will you be there? We sure hope so!
