Toña's surgery

Hi, my name is Stephanie Lacouture and I am fundraising because I need help to pay for my doggy's medical bills.

Toña has a cyst that initially appeared to be benign. However, a couple of weeks ago, the cyst got swollen, ruptured, and got infected. The wound and the bleeding were very scary. I took her to the ER where they cleaned the infection but the vets there asked me to take her to the regular vet for follow-up because they couldn't really tell what kind of cyst it was. This week, the same thing happened. The cyst got swollen, turned black, and bled. I took Toña to her vet, who took a sample from the wounded tissue and sent it to pathology. The results came back and Toña needs surgery because they found cells with signs of malignancy, and the cyst could turn out to be a sarcoma.

So far, I've spent more than $1,000 on Toña's medical bills and the vet estimates that the surgery would cost $2,576, and depending on the results of the surgery, she might need additional treatment. Normally, I would organize my budget and save for this amount, but the sooner we get the surgery, the less risk for the tumor to metastasize, and that is why I decided to create this fundraiser.

I appreciate any help, as I am aware that these are hard times for everyone due to the state of the economy. Still, I wanted to give it a shot and try to collect as much as I can to keep Toñita as healthy as possible.
