Help Me Keep Fighting
My name is Thomas "Taunted" Sajdak, and in 2019, my life changed forever.
A motorcycle accident left me with an incomplete C5-C6 spinal cord injury, turning the life I had built upside down. Before my accident, I spent years working construction and serving my community through the City of Prescott. I took pride in working with my hands, solving problems, and earning everything I had.
In a single moment, everything changed.
The hardest part of this journey hasn't been learning to live in a wheelchair. It has been fighting every single day to hold onto my independence, my dignity, and my purpose.
Today I require help with many of the basic things most people never have to think about. Getting dressed. Bathing. Catheter care. Laundry. Cleaning my home. Preparing meals. Simply getting through the day safely.
Recently, my situation has become even more difficult.
I've been paying out of pocket for a private caregiver, but because she works multiple jobs, she often cannot be there when I need her most.
There have been times I've had no choice but to remain in soiled clothing and wait for help that never came. No one should have to live that way.
I'm doing everything I can to find dependable caregiving so I can focus on healing instead of merely surviving.
Despite everything, I refuse to let my injury define who I am. Instead of giving up, I chose to build something meaningful.
I created Taunted & Black Doe Peer Support, a community dedicated to helping people facing trauma, disability, PTSD, depression, anxiety, addiction, and life's darkest moments.
My goal is simple: to make sure no one has to fight alone.
Every day I try to encourage others, even while I'm fighting battles that many people never see.
Your support isn't simply paying bills. Nor is it supporting my dream or goals. It simply is creating my independence and the forward movement I need.
It helps provide:
Reliable caregiving
Medical supplies and equipment
Transportation to medical appointments
Assistance with household tasks
Every donation, whether it's $5 or $500, brings me one step closer to living with greater independence and stability.
If you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family means just as much. Sometimes one share reaches the person who can change someone's life.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
I still have dreams.
I still have goals.
I still believe my best chapters haven't been written yet.
With your help, I can continue fighting, continue recovering, and continue helping others discover that hope is never truly lost.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
