Tom's Urgent Need for Health Support

My name is Tom Sajdak, and in 2019, I sustained a severe spinal cord injury (C5 and C6) that has left me an incomplete paraplegic. For the past five years, I have been facing significant challenges in accessing the consistent and specialized medical care essential for my recovery and well-being.

Currently, I am in urgent need of nursing care for chronic wounds and require reconstructive surgery due to complications from long-term catheter use. Additionally, I am pursuing stem cell surgery to accelerate wound healing. Unfortunately, my insurance coverage has been downgraded, leaving me without adequate support, and my income status prevents me from qualifying for state aid.

Maintaining consistent in-home care has been an ongoing struggle, placing immense strain on my finances and overall health. My family has provided incredible support, but distance limits their ability to assist with daily care. Without the necessary medical interventions and consistent care, my health continues to decline.
