Tom's Retreat Veterans Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization wanting to help Veterans, especially those who served in Vietnam. My name is Tom Sherwood, Chairman of TRVF and a Vietnam Veteran. I am very passionate about wanting to do more for our veteran community and recognizing those who served in our military, who put their lives on the line to protect.
One of the groups I intend to help are the Gold Star Families. These are families who lost their son or daughter in battle and I want to help them in every way I can. Last year, I donated $10,000 to the NJ Run for the Fallen who honor the Gold Star Families. I would like to do the same this year. The Run for the Fallen honors the fallen soldiers from the War of Terror.
We are also trying to set up an office with a full time employee to help direct Veterans on how to get help from the VA. We would also like to continue holding events at Tom's Retreat to honor our Veterans, especially the Vietnam Veterans. They are becoming fewer and fewer everyday. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to help a Vietnam Veteran that may not be here tomorrow.
