Hi! If you're reading this you probably know my older, "little brother" Tom . Or maybe you don’t - but have seen his pictures on social media and his ability to make us all a little jealous of his work and travels! When it's raining, snowing, or overcast & gloomy, don't look at social media… you'll see Tom posting a pic after a long day’s work on a beach or tiki hut either on a Florida coastline or a tropical island somewhere.

Tom’s sense of humor keeps us all laughing…or grimacing. Tom has been very fortunate to come out of a few scenarios that some do not. A severe car wreck that totaled his car back in the 90's, a heart attack back in 2014 and now June 3rd, 2023 an ER visit that turned into more than we hoped. His wife Tera took him to the hospital with severe chest pains, thinking it was a heart attack. Tom said this pain he was feeling was far worse than the pain he felt in 2014 with his heart attack. Tom was aware of a leaky heart valve that his doctors were watching but this time he was suffering from AFib and an arrhythmia. The combination of the leaky heart valve and now the locating of two reducing blockages, caused his heart rate to be down & operating around 20% capacity. You can only imagine how stressful and scary a situation like this may be. Tom has met with the surgeon, and they are looking at a laundry list of procedures from the aortic valve, mitral valve, maze procedure, atrial appendage clip and a double bypass.

It is a scary situation, but we are so thankful he has been in great hands with a great supportive medical team.

With that - I'm looking to friends & family, anyone that can help even in the slightest to lessen the financial burden that these procedures and time off of work will have on Tom & Tera. Together they'll have an insurance deductible that he will have to meet along with the loss of pay from taking time off work. Tom has short term disability but that only covers 60% of his base pay, not covering his regular overtime that he normally brings home. Medical leave most likely will be for 6-8 weeks, and even then, it will be slow going, I'm sure. The goal is a current estimation to cover the 8 weeks financial loss for both Tom and Tera as she too will have to deal with being off work & expenses related to staying with and caring for Tom and of course the hefty hospital bill shortly following.

Every dollar will help and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Tom & Tera to meet these unexpected financial obligations heavily thrusted upon them.
