Hi! I have created this GoFundMe page to raise money for Tom and Laurie Collins as Tom fights against his recent diagnosis of throat cancer (nasopharyngeal carcinoma). He discovered a lump in his neck around Christmas time and luckily his physicians have moved quickly and aggressively. He was diagnosed a few weeks ago after multiple appointments and has already started chemo therapy. Chemo therapy lasts 9 weeks before he begins a stint of 6 weeks of daily radiation.

Tom is a US Vet (NAVY) and thankfully is able to receive treatment at the Veterans hospital in Ann Arbor MI. Tom and Laure live almost 2 hours north of Ann Arbor, which means they have to drive weekly for all appointments and treatment. Additionally, Laurie will need to take 6 weeks off of work when his daily radiation begins and therefore will be without an income for this period of time. During the 6 weeks, they will need to stay in Ann Arbor.

This fundraiser is to help support the cost of travel, meals, and all the bills they will not be able to cover while Laurie is off work as well as any additional medical expenses that they will incur.
