Tom's Fearless Fight For His Life

Hi my name is Christina DuVarney and I am starting this much needed fundraiser for my brother from another mother Tom Raftican. He is in the fight of his life and the purpose of these funds is to ease the enormous financial burden that is imminent.

On Friday August 12th Tom went into acute heart failure and it is still unclear what the root cause is. The heart failure happened so fast and was so massive that he was airlifted from Community Memorial Hospital to Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles. He has the most incredible team of professionals that we could ask for.

Tom is on the most advanced form of life support and is being assisted by machines to save his life.

As of the creation of this Go Fund Me on 8/15/22 we have made some improvement and we are grateful for every tiny miracle along the way.

When you have an acute injury like this to your heart it effects every organ in your body. Tom was in liver failure and kidney failure as well. The liver is recovering well and the kidneys are being assisted by constant dialysis and there are high hopes that the kidneys will recover. His heart is showing signs of recovery as well which is a very good sign. He is stable and every hour gives us an opportunity for even more progress.

These funds will be used only to pay the medical bills for his care. This is a marathon and not a sprint, Tom has a long road ahead and we need every prayer possible.
