Tom's Cancer Journey

On January 13, 2017 my dad, Thomas Volz, was diagnosed with AML which is Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a fast-growing form of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. He has been in and out of the hospital for months while receiving several rounds of aggressive chemotherapy. My dad is fighting like he has never fought before. Beginning next week he will undergo a 5 to 6 week hospital stay, with more aggressive chemo, followed by his transplant. All seven of his siblings graciously were tested and the last one was a perfect match. My Aunt Patty Bell is selflessly giving her brother a second chance at life. As you can imagine the medical bills are astronomical and with Dad being the sole income provider this has significantly impacted our family over the last year. My parents have always been on the giving end for many people now I feel it is their turn to receive. They never ask for help but help is now desperately needed .  A donation of any size will be appreciated and will be used to help support my father's medical and practical needs throughout this journey .
