Can we do 7k in 7 Days? Starting on August 21st, 2024, Toni's Birthday, we will be looking to raise up to $7,000 in 7 Days!
The Story and how your contributions impact the community -
On August 5, 2013 we lost Toni to mental illness as she resorted to suicide. To raise awareness of mental illness and to help prevent suicide, we have established Tomorrow4Toni.
The Tomorrow4Toni Legacy Fund partners with groups such the Kids Foundation in KC, Awareness For Suicide Prevention and we have set up partial scholarship funds to be allocated to Aquinas Kindness a group at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Toni’s alma mater.
Aquinas Kindness spreads awareness of the potential impact a student has on another and leads speaking engagements on campus and at local middle schools to encourage a compassionate spirit.
Mental health within the US cannot be ignored and we can always continue to educate ourselves and others in the matter. From the terrible mass killings to celebrities like Robin Williams, we tend to ignore the issue until it hits home. When something tragic happens, like when our family lost my sister, Toni, it is tough to focus on anything else but grief. However, the reality is that we can learn from all these horrific life events and raise awareness by educating through the web on common symptoms, having conversations with loved ones and friends, and raising funds to stem more research.
Toni's favorite movie growing up was Annie, in her memory we choose to call this fundraising drive #tomorrowfortoni referring to the famous song "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow". We feel her love every day as the sun comes up, but still need to be aware that it may not be bright for someone else at that moment. Thank you for your support.
