On Saturday, September 5th in the early morning hours, Tomoka Outpost was robbed of six of our best kayaks in our fleet. We have posted the information on our Facebook page and it has been shared hundreds of times. We have reported our stolen kayaks to the Ormond Beach Police Department. We currently have an investigation in process. We are on a mission to find the thieves and recover our stolen kayaks. But in the mean time we must work on replacing these kayaks as they are very valuable to our business. Since we are already trying to recover from being shut down for almost two months due to the COVID State Park shut down, having these kayaks stolen comes at a very inconvenient time for us. It will cost us roughly $3,500-$5,000 in today's market to replace these kayaks. 
We usually aren't ones to ask for handouts and even making this GoFundMe page is awkward for us, but we have had several people ask us to do so.
If we reach our goal we are going to put together a kayak recovery fund celebration event (when and if the park will allow us to do so). So we can give back to all of you for helping us in our time of need. We are thinking of maybe hiring a band and either having them set up in front of the Outpost or in front of Chief Tomokie. These details will be posted when that time comes.
And IF we find our kayaks in the same condition they were before they were stolen (before we replace them) we will donate all of the money raised here to a local charity in need.
We can not thank all of you enough for the outpouring of support that's being shown right now. Because of all of you we are keeping our heads up and will not allow this to knock us down. In fact, we are using this unfortunate situation to make us stronger and even better than before. We are so proud to live in the community that we do. We are surrounded by so many wonderful people. We love what we do and we love being able to help everyone have more fun at Tomoka State Park. Thank you!!
