Thank you for considering partnering with me to support my dad in his time of need. Tommy was recently released from the hospital after being hospitalized due to life-threatening symptoms that landed him in the ICU 2 months ago. After 4 weeks of testing and pain support, the hospital staff was finally able to stabilize him and he was transported to a skilled nursing and long-term rehabilitation center. Tommy is in of need of financial support to continue medical and recovery efforts and comes from a generation that does not believe in asking for help. I started this GoFundme page to ask for him, because I know it will take a village of love, encouragement, and financial donations to get him the medical care he needs. For those who don't know Tommy, I'd like to share a little bit about him. Tommy is elderly (75). Tommy grew up in Adamsville, TN. Farm boy through and through until his dad moved his family to the Houston area in Texas in the 40's for a better life with more work opportunities. I learned early on that Tommy is a loyal man and continuously throughout his life displays a willingness to do what was needed to not only support his family, but his friends-even at his own expense when most people would argue the people he sacrificed for were undeserving. This is why I am respectfully requesting support on his behalf. He proudly served in the United States Army infantry during wartime in Korea during Vietnam. I share this because Tommy is not only my dad but a brother in arms as well. Unfortunately, I have discovered assistance through the VA will not be available in time for Tommy to continue with the kind of care he needs moving forward once discharged this month, but also affordable and suitable living for his best chance to fully recovering.
