Hi, my name is Monica Samuel. I’m a Toronto-based anti-violence educator, consultant and founder of Black Women In Motion. I'm fundraising for my fur baby, Tommy. He's 15 years old and has been by my side since he was a kitten. He has gotten me through every struggle life has thrown at me, and now he needs me to return the favour.

On March 26, 2024, Tommy suddenly became unwell, and I immediately brought him to the animal hospital. It was determined that Tommy has severe pancreatitis and a kidney stone and may require surgery. He has been in the Forest Hill Animal Hospital since and has developed minor seizures. His medical bills have already exceeded $5,000, and they are expected to go higher ($850+/day), which is a significant financial burden for my husband and I, as we are already caregivers.
