Hello! My name is Tommy Tholen and I am raising money for Equine Dreams based out of Newark, IL as part of my journey to run the Chicago Marathon. As a retired football player, I found my way into running, and I've made it my goal to progressively work my way from a 5k all the way up to a full marathon. Part of why I chose to raise funds for Equine Dreams is their mission to bring free Equine Therapeutic Riding Services to children and adults of all ages. They service the special needs community and do not charge, so they are reliant on fundraising such as this. My mom, Christine is also heavily involved in the therapeutic riding community, and teaches adaptive riding on and utilizes hippotherapy as a treatment tool on top of being an Occupational Therapist. I know the clients and families they help and it brings me great joy to help raise money to assist in providing these services for those who need it. They are a 501c3 NPO.
