We are raising money for our dear friend Tommy Perkins.
Tommy has fought against Rheumatoid Arthritis practically his entire life. His battle has had a severe impact on his body, including his hip joints which has caused him to need a hip replacement over the years.
His hip joint prosthesis has not treated him well - he continues to get infections and abscesses in the tissues and muscles around his prosthesis. In his most recent surgery on Wednesday, August 24th what was meant to be a clean out of an abscess has turned into a much bigger issue - his tissues and muscles around his prosthesis have turned necrotic and have eaten up a lot of his muscle and tissue in that area. He also continues to have an infection in that area as well. The surgeon had to remove the entire joint hardware and place an antibiotic spacer in its place for the next three months. Tommy will not be able to walk around very much, is in tremendous pain and physically exhausted.
As you can imagine, on top of not being able to work due to the immense pain and lack of mobility, Tommy and his family have rising medical costs due to his numerous surgeries, doctor's appointments, physical therapy and medications. We would like to raise funds to help Tommy and his family pay for these medical costs.
