Making My First Comedy Special

Hi, my name is Tommy and I'm raising money to self-produce a comedy special.

This year I hit 10 years of doing comedy (which is wild since I am still only 24 years old). I've put out an album, a Christmas EP, and tons of podcasts and writing but I've yet to do the thing I've always dreamed of: recording an hour-long comedy special. Instead of sitting around and waiting for someone to give me the opportunity, I've decided to bet on myself and record one on my own. This will allow me the potential to step up my career and reach a wider fan base, either by selling the special to a network or by putting it out for free and having full control over it. This is material I've been working on for three years, and I'm really proud of it. I think I have the chance to make something wholly unique and really fun.

Unfortunately, to produce a special that's the quality I want will be expensive, which is why I made this!

Here is where the money will go:

Equipment rental fees (around $2000)

Director/Sound Technician/Crew payments

Venue Fees ($250/hr from load-in to load-out so around $1250) plus a production coordinator at an hourly rate

Event insurance for the taping

Unseen production costs and payouts to performers/crew (there's going to be a full band)

I know it's the end of the year and the holidays so please do not feel any pressure in the slightest to contribute, I just can't cover these costs upfront myself so I'm seeking some help from friends and family to make a dream come true!
