We are fundraising for our much-loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, colleague and friend — Tommy Griffin.
Tommy was diagnosed with melanoma in 2014 and has spent the past 12 years bravely fighting this illness. Anyone who knows Tommy knows his strength, kindness, humour, and the love he has for his family, friends and his community.
Sadly, Tommy’s condition has recently deteriorated. He has now been told that the treatments available in Ireland will no longer keep this aggressive cancer under control.
After extensive research, Tommy has found a lifesaving treatment option in Germany. This is the only viable path forward, but it is not available in Ireland and not covered by medical insurance. The cost of treatment, travel, accommodation, and associated medical expenses is expected to be €110,000 — far beyond what any family could shoulder alone.
Tommy is married to Linda, and together they have four young children who adore their dad. The Griffin family is deeply woven into the GAA community — from Tommy’s home club of Glenmore, Co. Kilkenny, to his beloved Maynooth GAA, where he has been actively involved for the past 15 years. Tommy has given so much to his community through his work, charitable efforts and through the GAA; now, Tommy and his incredible family need help from all of us.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward Tommy’s urgent treatment in Germany.
If more funds are raised than needed, the surplus will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society to help other families facing similar battles.
Please help us give Tommy the chance he deserves.
If you cannot donate, sharing this page would mean the world to his family.
Thank you for your support, kindness, and generosity.
Together, we can help Tommy win this battle.
