My name is Eileen, and my cat (officially Than Chai) Tommy and I are presently dealing with a landlord and his associates who have been repeatedly entering our apartment without my knowledge or consent.

The building is up for sale, and the landlord has a right to show it, but not to endanger our security and privacy. He and his associates have only once contacted me in advance about a showing (but at that time, did not show up).

There have been multiple showings without my knowledge or consent. Doors have been left open, and a damaged lock was left unrepaired, despite my requests to have it fixed. I have replaced the lock (the costs of which I hope to deduct from my rent, though my landlord will contest this), and I need ring cameras and alarms, as well as money for a lawyer.

I am looking for a new place, but so far have not found one, and I am truly worried about security. My front door was opened via access from another apartment and left open yesterday, and I have no video or audio proof of this. My landlord is denying it happened.

The harassment and gaslighting have been escalating since December 2022, when it began, and I need to know that my cat and my possessions and privacy are safe while I find a new place for us to live.

Please help us guard our safety while I look for a new home.
