Tommy Cable's Love You Fund

We can't bring our beautiful Tommy back, but we can use his incredible legacy of love, kindness and music to help others who are struggling with invisible pain. 

We are creating Tommy's Love You Fund to shine a light into the shadows where so many young adults are hiding their mental health issues, thinking they are alone, feeling shame and stigma, not realizing how over-crowded those shadows are with their peers experiencing the same thing. 

Our goal is three-fold: to destroy the stigma around mental health issues; to find a way to ensure young "adults" get real help managing their medications and prescription refills in college; and to bring therapy dogs into the college environment as often as possible.

Too many students, away from home for the first time, lose track of their medications, and forget to refill prescriptions, which can impact both their physical and psychological  health; too many students are reluctant to seek out any mental health support at college, even when they are in crisis, in case it is seen as a weakness or inability to cope. Therapy dogs, however, transcend the stigma and provide enormous comfort with absolutely no judgment, encouraging people to come together and open up about the challenges they may be facing, challenges some of their neighbors may share. 

We will be using the funds we raise in Tommy's name to set up a non-profit foundation to help us achieve these goals and save vulnerable lives. The foundation will be called Tommy Cable's Brightlove Project, and anyone who would like to get involved should message Anabel.
