Tommy Brock’s Vet Bills

Hi, my name is Jennifer Candiotti, and I am fundraising on behalf of my best friend, Rachel Murphy to help pay for her cat’s vet bills.

Tommy Brock is a 8-year-old, black and white cat from the streets. He came into Rachel‘s life as a kitten her sister was fostering. He quickly won their hearts, and they knew they had to keep him. He’s a tender soul, and he and Rachel have a special bond. She adopted him when she was in college in Washington, and he lived in her dorm room as an emotional support cat. They moved to California during her gap year, and then they lived in New York together as she earned her masters in social work. They’ve been through a lot together, and he means the world to her.

Two years ago, he required bladder surgery after complications with a routine urine check. Then he started having issues with his toe. Then he started having kidney issues. Last month he was hospitalized and required a blood transfusion. Now it seems like his kidneys are struggling once again.

To this point, Rachel has been paying for Tommy’s vet bills instead of paying off her student loans, with a total of almost $30,000 to date and more bills to come. As he needs further medical care, the financial burden becomes too much for her to carry alone.

Rachel is a loyal friend who puts others before herself as a matter of principle. She works as a therapist, so helping others is literally her job description. Now, it’s time for us to step up and help her in this stressful time so she can pursue what’s best for her cat.
