Tommy Ann Steinsiek's LYME DISEASE TREATMENT

Hello, my name is Tate Steinsiek and I unfortunately am at an end trying to help my Mother, Doctor's have failed her completely and her condition has degenerated to bed ridden. This is a last resort for us, we've never wanted to burden others with our problem, but if it goes unattended any longer, we are going to lose my Mother.

For over 15 years my once vibrant and artistic mother has been battled an undiagnosed condition until finally being diagnosed with LYME DISEASE. She was extremely physical, she ran her own Wildlife Rehab in the Ozarks. In the late 2000's she began getting ill, intense body pains, and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. The Dr's put her on what eventually became over 200 mg of Oxycontin a day. Her condition worsened and worsened and hundreds of Dr. visits later someone suggested Lyme Disease. We sent her to a specialist who confirmed she was positive for Lyme.

Unfortunately, Oklahoma (our home) does NOT recognize Lyme as a disease, and the treatments to save her will not be covered by insurance. They are so expensive, we have tried sending her to Texas and Missouri specialists but we cannot afford the treatment. After the Opioid crisis became news, her Dr's immediately stripped her of 90% of her pain medication WITHOUT weaning her from it. She went into a horrifying detox, she screamed for days. Her digestive track began shutting down causing enormous swelling and eventually a perforated bowel, and a major surgery saved her.

While in the hospital recovering, my mother's Palliative care company DROPPED her, eliminating her pain medications and leaving her with nothing for the recovery. Because of her previous enormous pain med prescription, the Dr's were fearful of prescribing her anything for the post-Op recovery and claimed they COULDN'T, she would have to go and find a new Pain Management Dr. So, she suffered through her entire recovery without relief. She was vomiting from the detox, popping stitches on her surgery sutures.

She spent 8 months with a stoma, all of this without pain meds because she wasn't in physical condition to go to Pain Management Appointments. The scar and her belly are distended and tight, pulling her over into a hunch, and the Lyme is STILL ravaging her. She cries saying "it's taking her mind". She's becoming incoherent and paranoid and my family is broken with grief. Caring for her is a full time job and now that she is back on palliative care and Dr.s have just begun sending her Opoids again to mask the pain.

NO ONE is helping her get better and she regularly says she is ready to die. I want to give my mother one more fair chance at a manageable life and that requires a $100k out of pocket expense for specialists, travel, and boarding for duration of the months- long treatment. With this treatment we could restore a major amount of her cognative function, and decrease her pain level immensely. She literally has microscopic parasites attacking every area of her body and the medical community has abandoned her. We HAVE to retain a specialist, and this will allow that to happen.

We have raised as much money independently as we can, roughly $40k from friends and family, but we need the rest in order to begin the procedures and acquire a bed in the facility for the duration of the several month treatment. Please help my family with this if you are able, it has brought happy days to an end. My family is wonderful, my mother is an amazingly supportive and creative human who deserves to live her golden years in peace, not agony. Thank you for your time.
