As those of you who know our family are aware, we lost our son/brother/uncle Tommy in March of 2012. It's been a challenging journey for us but one of the things that provides us some comfort is the foundation we set up in Tommy's name- The Tommy LaBella Sky's the Limit Foundation. Through this non-profit organization we raise funds for organizations in the community where Tommy grew up. We also try to partner with organizations that had a connection with Tommy in one way or another. Two such organizations are The New Rochelle Little League (anyone who knew Tommy knows how much he loved sports) and most recently The Humane Society of New Rochelle.  Tommy had a special connection with our cat, Sandy. Sandy passed away in March of 2015 but we had her for 19 wonderful years. We can't tell you how much comfort she provided all of us after Tommy passed away. She felt his absence as well but her presence truly helped the entire family get through that very difficult time. 
The Humane Society of Westchester will be going through renovations over the next several years, and we have committed $50,000 to them for naming rights for a sunshine room for cats. It will be called  "The Tommy and Sandy LaBella Sunshine Room for Cats". This is a significant commitment and while we will continue our annual softball tournament to help fund this donation, we will also need to raise additional money to meet this goal. With that in mind, 100% of the money collected through this GoFundMe campaign will directly benefit the Humane Society and this project.
We are grateful for all the support we've received from everyone over the past 6 1/2 years- both emotionally as well as financially in support of Tommy's foundation.  For that we thank all the friends and family who have been there for us throughout this journey.  We also appreciate anything you can do to help us reach this goal and provide this wonderful room for cats to enjoy for years to come. We know Tommy WILL be proud!
