We are raising money for our great family friend Tom Moio. Tom had fallen down some stairs in May 2016, since then Tom has been seen by multiple doctors, they have not given him a definite diagnosis as of yet, but his condition has deteriorated rapidly, doctors have not been able to diagnose the problem. This issue has left him severely debilitated and unable to take care of himself, much less work.
Tom is a very proud man who has always taken care of his family, these issues have left him unable to do so and the Moio family is in desperate need of our help. All of this due to falling down some stairs. Recently a doctor found a fatty deposit in the spinal region that was blocking spinal fluid, we hope this could possibly be the cause, he was operated on, and removed the deposit.
Tom is one of the good guys in this world! When you speak with him, he has your full attention, has a great sense of humor and a gentle manner. He has always been healthy and his only bad habit that I am aware of, is a slight Pepsi addiction!
Right now Tom classifies himself as a quadapelegic, he cannot move his legs or left arm, he can slightly move his right hand/arm.
With these symptoms, doctors have stated it could be a spinal injury or the possibility of ALS, it is quickly robbing Tom, his wife Betty and their son Angelo of their hopes and dreams. what ever it is, its robbing them of the simple things in life that every family hopes for!
Due to his current condition and the desire to bring Tom home (currently he is in a nursing facility), the family will need a tub lift, motorized wheelchair, handicap van, physical therapy, hospital bed, Hoyer lift and much more to give the family time together. We pray that Tom does not have ALS and that the doctors will find some other cause for his debilitation, but we need to take some action NOW.
My wife and I have been great friends with the Moio’s for over 20 years and would like to help them as much as we can. We are asking for your support in this families time of need. No contribution is too little and every contribution will mean so much. Please contribute what you are able and share Tom's story with whomever you think might be able to help.
