It is with such a heavy heart that I write this. I cannot begin to express the pain & loss that my family is coping with at this time. Our beloved Mother, known as 'Sooke's tommi' tragically & suddenly left us on April 11, 2023. Though medically unconfirmed, we are certain it was a heart attack as her heart was just too big for this world. tommi (always spelt with a small t) loved HUGE & UNCONDITIONALLY. There was not a person, animal or thing she did not offer her whole heart to when needed. She was the woman that offered her plate of food to someone hungry even if her own stomach was growling. She frequently gave away her last dollar to anyone she felt was in a worse way than she.

Sadly this did not leave my mother in a state of financial well-being. She was unable to work as of 2006, after dozens of medical issues including multiple major surgeries. This left my mom to rely on a small disability pension to make ends meet. Our family pulled together as best we could to make her comfortable and be sure she did not want for anything. My mother was also the sole executor of hers and her spouse Scott Kelly's (aka Pappy) finances. She managed all their bills, finding odd jobs she could do from home to supplement both their disability incomes as Pappy is, as well, on LTD due to a recent stroke among other medical issues.

Pappy is left heartbroken and in a financial crisis. He may lose his home as he will not be able to support the rental payments on his income alone. My sisters and I have scraped our savings together to cover the cremation arrangements as well as a celebration of life. We are asking for donations to help Pappy stay comfortable while he grieves, as without my mom, he is lost.

My parents had never considered themselves unfortunate, they never asked for a dime from anyone, they only gave with their whole hearts. Now I am asking, on their behalf for the same love and support they would openly distribute to all of us.

We are tentatively planning for a Celebration of Life for tommi on Saturday, June 3rd. Formal notices will be made available as soon as we have finalized the arrangements.
