Tomilyn Ryba's Surgery
Donation protected
Hello, I am Tomilyn's mom. Asking for money is not something I would normally do. It has been a very difficult year financially for our family. We made alot of changes and sacrifices but sometimes that is just not enough. Tomilyn is my 21 year old daughter. She is the sweetest, most compassionate and caring person on the planet. She, unfortunately, is one of those 'kids' that gets injured easily and it's never simple.
Tomi was an athlete; volleyball and basketball. Realizing she could no longer continue playing sports, she began coaching high school vb and basketball at a Christian HS while she attends college. She was demonstrating a move on the court when her meniscus in her right knee flipped over her knee cap and locked her leg. Her surgery is scheduled for Tuesday December 20th and we have to pay at the time of the surgery.
I recently got a new job with health insurance. I thought we would be fine but when we confirmed the surgery a couple of days ago they said we would have to meet the $12000 deductible before the coverage kicked in. If we use the insurance we have to pay almost $8000. The surgery center has also offered us a cash pay rate. If we pay cash the total is $4900. I don't understand it.
Earlier this year I donated to a gofundme page and now I am reaching out to our friends and family. For some, like us, money comes and goes. We are at a time of need and I know there are people that will help. I’m sure we will have additional expenses associated with the recovery but I am praying that we will be able to cover those costs ourselves. We THANK YOU so much for taking the time to read this and for your payers and donations. Every little bit helps.
