Ciaoo, we are three students from Brera Academy of Fine Arts (Milan), and this September we’ll be traveling for two weeks to Indiana, USA — more precisely to Muncie — to shoot an independent documentary about Tom, an elderly man who has lived there since birth, with his wife and their dog, Chico.

This documentary doesn’t aim to explore America as a whole, but rather to focus on a small fragment of it — to observe and listen, letting things unfold naturally in front of the camera.

An everyday America, far from the so-called “American dream,” seen without haste, through foreign yet sensitive eyes.

Why support this project?

This trip is entirely independent and self-funded.

The tools we’ll be using are essential and low-cost, but the cost of living in the U.S. is significantly higher than in Italy.

The funds we raise will go directly toward:

• Health insurance

• Car rental + gas for traveling to film in different locations

• Daily expenses

• Rental of some filming equipment

• Costs for film rolls, development, and scanning

Siamo tre studentesse dell’accademia di belle arti di Brera e a settembre partiremo per due settimane per l’Indiana, negli Stati Uniti, più precisamente a Muncie per girare un documentario indipendente su Tom, un uomo anziano che vive lì da quando è nato, insieme a sua moglie e il suo cane Chico.

Questo documentario non vuole esplorare l’America, ma un frammento, osservarlo ed ascoltarlo lasciando che tutto accada davanti la macchina da presa.

Un’America quotidiana, lontana dal così detto “sogno americano” attraversata senza fretta, con occhi stranieri ma sensibili.

Perché finanziare?

Questo viaggio è indipendente ed autofinanziato.

Gli strumenti che utilizzeremo sono essenziali ed economici, siamo studentesse e abbiamo poco budget in più il costo della vita in America è elevato rispetto in Italia..

Quindi i fondi raccolti saranno prettamente per:

- assicurazione sanitaria

- Noleggio macchina + benzina per spostamenti

- spese giornaliere

- Noleggio attrezzature per le riprese

- Spese per rullini, sviluppo e scansione
