My name is Magda, and I’m fundraising for my cousin Tomek, who is facing a recurrence of stage 4 glioma.

Last year, Tomek underwent standard treatment. We hoped it would be enough. However, now, the cancer is back - and the path forward is uncertain. Several treatment options are being explored, but we don’t yet know what will be recommended. What we do know is that time is critical, and costs could be overwhelming. That’s why our entire family is coming together now - to raise funds so that when a decision is made, Tomek won’t have to face financial barriers on top of everything else.

We are all devastated because it’s Tomek - someone who has always given so much of himself to others - who now has to fight this battle again.

Tomek is the kind of person who shows up. I’ll never forget the Christmas Eve he carried our cousin on a wheelchair, four flights of stairs in a building with no elevator, so that he could spend the holiday with his mother. That’s who Tomek is.

"In September 2024, I received a diagnosis that changed everything: stage IV glioma, one of the most malignant brain tumors. In November, I underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Unfortunately, the procedure damaged my optic nerve. This meant I couldn't return to work, which primarily involved driving. And, most painfully, my beloved motorcycle.

Until recently, I was an active person—a happy husband, father, and employee. I lived life to the fullest, was passionate about traveling by bike, and engaged in family and professional life. Suddenly, illness struck and turned my life around.

Today I'm back in the fight – the disease has returned. I face further stages of treatment, which are not only physically and mentally exhausting but also very expensive.

In the coming days, I'll undergo another surgery to remove the tumor. What's next? It's unclear... There are several treatment options – some subsidized, some not. And that's why the fundraiser has been launched.
