#TomasStrong - Helping Tomas Recover
Donation protected

On the morning of August 25th, the unthinkable happened when Tomas collapsed and was rushed to Nicklaus Children's hospital where he was in full cardiac arrest. The staff and doctors worked non-stop on Tomas. He was hooked up to a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma for several days to help his body and brain heal from the trauma.
Tomas is now off the ventilator, breathing on his own and coming out of the coma. Doctors are optimistic and his progress is promising. However, with this kind of injury and as part of recovery, he will need significant rehab to re-learn how to eat, walk, talk and do the many other things a 14-year-old needs to do. Tomas is going to require specialized therapies and the best medical care possible so that he will live a normal, fully functional life. Much of what he needs may not be covered by insurance. There will be many other unexpected medical costs along the way as Tomas fights for his recovery.
To know Daniela, Jorge and their three wonderful kids is to love them and to know Tomas is to adore him. Their life has been turned upside down as they care round the clock for Tomas and his needs. The emotional trauma for all of them is unimaginable. This is the most difficult thing they will likely ever go through.
Together, we can make this heavy load just a little bit lighter for them as they begin the long road of Tomas' recovery. Please keep Tomas, his parents, sisters and entire family in your prayers.
All funds raised here will be used towards Tomas' recovery. Any outstanding funds will be paid forward.
