I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help during one of the most difficult times for my family. My dad was hospitalized unexpectedly and has been in the hospital for the past seven days. Things were really scary at first—he was intubated right away, and for a while, we weren’t sure what would happen. We later found out that he tested positive for influenza, which led to pneumonia. Because my dad has had COPD for years, his lungs struggled even more to fight off the infection, making this an incredibly tough battle for him.

Thankfully, on day six and by the grace of God, he was strong enough to have the tube removed, and he’s finally on the road to recovery.

These past days have been some of the hardest, but we’ve been praying nonstop, trusting that God would pull him through—and He did. We got our miracle.

While we’re incredibly grateful that he’s getting better, the reality is that his hospital stay has come with overwhelming medical expenses. Unfortunately, my dad doesn’t have insurance, and the financial burden on my family is more than we can handle alone.

Me acerco a ustedes con el corazón en la mano para pedir ayuda en uno de los momentos más difíciles para mi familia. Mi papá fue hospitalizado inesperadamente y ha estado en el hospital durante los últimos siete días. Al principio, todo fue realmente aterrador: lo intubaron de inmediato y, por un tiempo, no estábamos seguros de lo que pasaría. Más tarde nos enteramos de que dio positivo por influenza, lo que derivó en neumonía. Debido a que mi papá ha tenido EPOC durante años, sus pulmones tuvieron aún más dificultad para combatir la infección, haciendo de esta una batalla increíblemente difícil para él.

Afortunadamente, al sexto día y por la gracia de Dios, tuvo la fuerza suficiente para que le retiraran el tubo y, finalmente, está en camino a la recuperación.

Estos últimos días han sido de los más duros, pero hemos estado orando sin cesar, confiando en que Dios lo sacaría adelante—y así fue. Recibimos nuestro milagro.

Aunque estamos profundamente agradecidos de que esté mejorando, la realidad es que su estadía en el hospital ha generado gastos médicos abrumadores. Lamentablemente, mi papá no tiene seguro, y la carga financiera para nuestra familia es más de lo que podemos manejar solos.
