Hello! My name is Ashley Hernández. I would like to share something very personal with you and, if possible, ask for your help. A few days ago, my father, Tomás Hernández, who is 96 years old, had to undergo emergency surgery for a hip fracture. He lives in Caracas, Venezuela, where unfortunately the medical and economic situation is very complex, and this surgery has been a huge challenge for my family.
My father fell while he was sleeping, which caused the fracture. My siblings and I have been living outside of the country for years, seeking better opportunities due to the difficult situation in Venezuela. He only has his wife by his side, and although we try to help in every way we can, the medical and rehabilitation costs have become impossible to cover with our current resources.
It breaks our hearts not to be physically there for him during such difficult times, but we know he needs the best care and rehabilitation to recover. Because of his advanced age and the fact that he suffers from dementia, he requires constant supervision to avoid further accidents and complications, so having professionals experienced in these specialized care needs is essential. Keeping him in a clinical rehabilitation center is crucial, but these services are very expensive.
That is why I am reaching out to you today with humility and hope. Any contribution you can make, no matter how small, will greatly help cover the surgery costs, his stay at the rehabilitation center, and the medications he needs. If you are unable to contribute financially at this time, sharing this campaign with your friends and family would be a tremendous help.

Hace unos días, mi papá, Tomás Hernández, de 96 años, tuvo que ser operado de emergencia por una fractura de cadera. Él vive en Caracas, Venezuela, donde lamentablemente la situación médica y económica es muy compleja, y esta cirugía ha sido un gran desafío para mi familia.
Mi papá se cayó mientras dormía, lo que le provocó la fractura. Mis hermanos y yo vivimos fuera del país desde hace años, buscando mejores oportunidades debido a la difícil situación en Venezuela. Él solo cuenta con la compañía de su esposa, y aunque nosotros tratamos de ayudar de todas las maneras posibles, los costos médicos y de rehabilitación se han vuelto imposibles de cubrir con nuestros recursos actuales.
Nos parte el corazón no poder estar físicamente con él en estos momentos tan duros, pero sabemos que necesita la mejor atención y rehabilitación para recuperarse. Debido a su avanzada edad y a que padece demencia, requiere supervisión constante para evitar nuevos accidentes y complicaciones, por lo que es fundamental contar con profesionales que estén familiarizados con este tipo de cuidados especiales. Mantenerlo en un centro clínico de rehabilitación es esencial, pero estos servicios son muy costosos.
Por eso, hoy acudo a ustedes con humildad y esperanza. Cualquier contribución que puedan realizar por mínima que parezca será de gran ayuda para cubrir los gastos de la cirugía, la estancia en el centro de rehabilitación y los medicamentos que necesita.
