Tom Patison needs our help! On Christmas Eve dear Tom lost his love, Lisa Gollinger, to a hard fought battle against a fast moving, brutal cancer. Lisa fell ill suddenly, just before Thanksgiving Day. Tom rarely left her side, except to get a little rest.
Lisa's passing was tragic and traumatic. It wasn’t Tom’s only challenge. Just after Lisa's memorial, he found out he needed to vacate the home they’d shared with Lisa’s daughter, Amara, immediately. Amara went to live with her dad. The weeks he stopped working to spend by Lisa's side wiped out all of his savings. The life he knew dissolved quickly.
.
Tom’s “normal” is to be a strong, financially stable, family man . . . a hard working, sole proprietor of a roofing business. He enjoys being the one who takes care of those around him and lends a hand to anyone in need. Enduring so much, so quickly has challenged him in ways difficult to transcend.
I started this GoFundMe for him, to his protests, because I know our community will pull together for those in need! I hope you’ll help me help Tom get back on solid footing. It won’t take much if we spread out the giving! If we all share what we can, and then share this campaign with our extended communities, Tom’s burden will be eased. It'll help get him through grieving and finding his way back to a different life. We can help this kind, thoughtful man.
Anything is a worthy contribution, $5, $10, or more. Please consider sharing his story with others right away and inviting them to help get a good man back on his feet. A little can do SO much. We'll build him a bridge to his healing.
All contributions will go directly to Tom, to help ease his time of loss and need. It will allow him a little time to heal - instead of having to worry about a place to live and coping with financial upheaval. Tom is not a taker, and letting us help him through this page was a challenge for him.
He appreciates this gesture of kindness beyond his ability to express right now. Thank you for reading this story and sharing the link to it widely! Thank you for caring and making any contribution you are moved to make! Please leave messages for Tom on the page, and he will be responding as soon as he can.
With love,
Leslie Merical, Tom's friend
