Tom Williams with a wrist alarm for his epilepsy

Hi. I am Diane. A mother of 3 adults who have autism and learning disabilities.
My son Tom, who is autistic, aged 22 worked, could drive and was independent until November last year when out of the blue he had status epilepticus. This is when a seizure does not stop. He was in critical care at Russell Hall Hospital for 3 weeks then transfeared to Birmingham QE Hospital critical care for a week. From there he went onto the Nero ward for a further 7 weeks.
He has now been diagnosed with Nocternal drug resistant epilepsy and is high risk of SUDEP( sudden unexplained death in epilepsy)
To be able to reduce risk we will have to take it in turns to stay awake at night to watch him as cannot afford the wrist alarm which is £1400 to keep him safe.
Our lives have changed dramatically with no warning.
If you could give anything to help with this, we would be endually grateful and then would be mental and physically fit to support him moving forward.
