Tom Venturin Memorial

Hi, we're Ben and Cameron, and we are working alongside Nudgee College to create a memorial picnic area by the dam in honour of our friend, Tom Venturin (NCOB 2021). Tom was a past student and a cherished friend, known for his humour and cheeky personality.

One of Tom’s greatest passions was fishing, and while he never had the opportunity to visit the dam at Nudgee, it would have been a place he’d truly enjoy.

This memorial is designed to be more than just a space—it’s a place where current boarders, who already fish at the dam, can gather and create memories as Tom would have wanted. It will feature picnic tables, a bench overlooking the water with a QR code that links to a video celebrating Tom’s life, a sandstone memorial with a plaque, and fishing rod holders. Ideally, the goal is for this space to become a place for boys to reflect, laugh and connect.

Funds raised will also go towards stocking the dam with fish, providing fishing equipment for the current boarders, a communal BBQ for shared gatherings, and maintaining the area. Our goal is to ensure Tom’s memory continues to inspire moments of connection and fond memories.
