Tom Stobart's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
I am reaching out to the Towngate Theater/Oglebay Institute/Paradox Bookstore crowd in Wheeling, WV to assist Tom Stobart, owner of the Paradox Bookstore, actor, playwright, and friend to many in the Ohio Valley community. As many of you know, Tom received a medical diagnosis 4 years ago from a doctor who claimed he had only 6 weeks to live, and so Tom sold his house and gave away most of his money and many of his possessions. Well, the diagnosis was incorrect as Tom is still here with us. This past October, Tom fell and broke his shoulder. He was in Ohio Valley Hospital and is now in Peterson Hospital for physical therapy to improve his walking. He has been doing extremely well with great progress; however, 2 bouts of pneumonia set him back a bit. He is still in Peterson doing physical therapy every day. Tom has minimum insurance and Medicare but no income since his accident; the Paradox has been closed. I am calling upon all of you to donate what you can for Tom's medical bills, utilities, and rent as he has no living relatives nor no other income. He is about to be released from Peterson before his physical therapy is finished due to the mounting medical expenses. His rent is overdue, his utilities are about to be terminated, and Tom is growing extremely worried about his present and future. If you can possibly make any donation, all proceeds will be going to taking care of Tom until he can reopen the Paradox. I thank you for your generosity, your kindness, and your thoughtfulness during what is a dark and troubling time for our Friend. Blessings to you all!
