On Wednesday, June 15th, while at his Union Ironworkers job, our friend Tom Stanowski fell from a substantial height. After extensive testing in the E.R. and under the advisement of specialists along with his primary care doctor, Tom was admitted to the hospital. Miraculously, he did not break any bones, however, suffered massive trauma to his head and body. Tom has little to no use of his left arm and shoulder as well as limitations with walking. He is beyond happy to finally be home with his family and to be able to continue on with his life. Anyone who knows Tom knows that this is not an easy situation for him; he is frustrated that he cannot work, spend time with friends, work on his own projects, and he’s especially frustrated that he can’t enjoy the daily or summer routines with his kids as he did in the past.

Tom has a long road ahead of him to recover from his trauma, working to gain the use of his left arm again and working to be the person we all know him to be. This could include many hours of physical rehabilitation and taking a pause from his active work life. Tom had no way to prepare for such a dire situation and given the extent of his injuries, he has not been given any timeline as to when he can return to work.

Many ask how they can help Tom during this time, and the best way to help right now is financially.
