Tom Paulinca’s Accident Fund

Tom Paulinca, a crucial member of the Salem NH Farmers Market and a friend has recently been seriously injured in a freak accident on Cape Elizabeth. Tom hit his head on a low doorway at a fort, stepped back stunned onto a rock where he lost his footing and fell backwards down a 15 foot drop landing on his back on rocks. He broke a cervical vertebra and displaced it 1.5”. He underwent surgery for this very serious injury.  Tom also sustained injuries to his ribs which were broken all along his spine and in multiple other places. He underwent an eight hour surgery to plate these shattered ribs so they have a chance of healing. Tom will remain in Portland Medical Center’s ICU for another week and a half before being transferred to a long-term rehab facility. Tom is crucial in the execution of the market in allocating and retaining vendors. He helps make this market what it is.
