Tom Orr's Damned Hernia

Tom Orr has been in the cosmic karmic mud wrestling pit with Mother Nature, Dame Fortuna and Auntie Fate. After being priced out of San Francisco 5 years ago and moving to Guerneville in Sonoma County, he was a dealt a blow this year when torrential rains flooded the Russian River. Facing a choice to stay and be homeless or move on and start over in Seattle with friends & family, he chose the latter and has already produced a new show. Now he is coping with a hernia aggravated by the flood. His surgery is Monday.

But hernia operations cost money, which might be a problem if one's wallet has recently been thinned by an act of God and a contract with U-Haul. Karmically speaking, we all owe Tom a ton for bringing so much sassy happiness into our lives.  I am eager to throw a little cash in the kitty, as you probably are, too. I'm thinking of my gift as  a royalty payment for all those devilishly delicious and exquisitely scansioned lyrics I've enjoyed scot-free since Facebook was just a Thumb.
