Tom O'Gorman's Battle Against Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Tom O’Gorman is a cherished man to so many- a husband, father, step-father, brother, uncle, grandfather, brother-in-law, son-in-law, Navy Veteran and friend to all he meets. To know Tom is to love him—he leaves a lasting impression on anyone lucky enough to meet him. The new year (2023) started off on a difficult note for our family when we learned that Tom has 2 brain tumors that are, unfortunately, cancerous. The tumors have been diagnosed as Glioblastomas which are an extremely rare, stubborn, unpredictable and fast-spreading type. However, if anyone can take on this challenge, it is Tom. He’s a fighter through and through. He has a zest for life that is unique and contagious.

During this already difficult time, Tom and his loving wife, Ann, lost two of their three most precious dogs- Bentley and Fort. If you know this amazing couple you know that their pets are their babies. Tom spent countless hours a day caring for their aging pups- giving meds several times a day, being their personal chef (Yes- they ate freshly cooked chicken every day) ,walks, car rides, vet trips, etc. So, to say Tom and Ann are heartbroken over losing these sweet pups is an understatement. All while dealing with this frightening and shocking cancer diagnosis.

Your donation will help ease day to day financial stress the future will certainly bring. Between driving back and forth to daily treatments, changing to easier types of meals to reduce stress on them and allow them to have as much quality time together as possible, in addition to other incidentals that will add up quickly. Tom just turned 70 in September 2022 and retired from his job soon after. Ann will be needing to take time away from her job to help Tom through his cancer treatment journey, thus, they will be losing some income unexpectedly.

If anyone deserves some help during such an unimaginable time it’s Tom and Ann. They are truly some of the most wonderful people I know. They would give the shirt off their backs to anyone who needed it. I can say that every time we get to see them ---whether it’s visiting them in Florida or them visiting us in Minnesota--- there are tears of joy and laughter that are prevalent throughout our time together followed by waterworks of sadness when it’s time to depart. This is the impact they have on everyone they know and love.

I can’t even think of all of the words I'd use to describe Uncle Tom but these are just a handful that come to mind-- Generous, kind, funny, loving, genuine, helpful, caring, thoughtful, smart, handy, warm, welcoming, loyal, adventurous, charming, fun, dog/animal lover, stellar singer, cheery, positive and simply loves with his WHOLE heart.

Let’s help Tom and Ann battle this cruel disease. Let’s join him in saying words made famous by another Tom (Petty!), “No, I Won’t Back Down!”.

Any prayers, love and donations are SO appreciated!
