A few months ago, Susie ran down the steps of their Oak Cliff home watching some people unload some items from a U-Haul trailer right in front of their home, knowing they lived in a secluded area, people were dumping items on their street. Tom, ran after his wife, in an effort to protect her, not realizing that in the heat of the day the asphalt was around 156 degrees, as it was 105 degrees that day. With diminished feeling in his feet due to neuropathy and other medical issues, he had no idea the severity of the burns he incurred that day. Tom had 2nd degree burns on his left foot. On September 2nd, his niece took him to the emergency room, they immediately hospitalized him and pronounced a few hours later that he had a rare but deadly flesh eating bacteria that they would immediately need to remove it. An Emergency amputation occurred on his left foot. On September 17th he entered rehabilitation and was released to home care on the 29th. He is currently staying with his Niece due to accessibility issues with his home. We are trying to raise funds to help accommodate new medical needs and allow a smoother recovery for him. Prayers are most needed and welcomed! We are seeking funds for the following:
Van for transportation: $2500+ TT&L
Concrete for back portion of home for wheelchair access: $1800
Construction Costs - Home remodeling for wheelchair access: $4000
