Tom McCrossan needs our help! On September 27th, Tom crashed on his ATV and sustained multiple serious injuries. He has facial fractures, a cracked skull, and broken ribs. His first few days in the hospital were touch and go as the head injury was severe. There was a lot of swelling on his brain and breathing was difficult. A shunt was installed which allowed the excess fluid to drain and, for a time, Tom was on a respirator to assist with breathing. Small improvements were seen, and then there would be setbacks. A trach was inserted as the doctors moved him off of the respirator, and thankfully, he is now able to breath on his own. Healing has been slow. When the medical professionals felt he was ready, Tom was moved to a long term rehabilitation center to continue his recovery. Currently though, he is still unable to communicate at all. Recovery from a head injury is a long, slow process. Tom and his wife, Theresa, have 3 sons. The medical bills for the hospital stay,  procedures, medications, therapies, and now the rehabilitation center are large. They have some insurance, but the amount of the copays is also large.
