Tom Lang's Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Sarah; I started this Go Fund Me for Tom & Jenny Lang.

 

Jenny is my friend, mentor, ex-boss, and one of my all-time favorite people; she goes out of her way to care for and encourage the people around her. I have never heard a complaint from this woman - just encouragement and solutions. 

 

She started on a new career path recently in sales, and upon beginning the ramp-up of her sales position, her family was shocked to find out that her husband Tom has cancer. 

 

He has amyloidosis, a rare blood cancer, only 3000 people in the US are diagnosed with it; therefore, the treatment is somewhat experimental. The plan is 3-4 cycles of Chemo, then a bone marrow transplant in December. He will be in the hospital for 2-3 weeks, and once he is home, he will need 24-hour care. After that he will have to be in a bubble due to his lack of immune system and after 60-90 days of that...more chemo.

 

With Jenny being the rock for so many people, Tom has been the rock to her and her family. They have two beautiful teenage kids currently in high school. It is Tom's role to ensure they get to and from school, football, academic support and all that kid stuff they need to do.

 

Between figuring out how to keep the kids focused on school and activities while their main support person is ill-- to covering insurance co-pays, deductibles, and other unplanned out-of-pocket expenses, and with Jenny starting a new career from the ground up...

 

Clearly, Jenny's family needs a little extra support right now.
