Tom Hooker is running 60km to the Emirates

Tax deductible
On 9th April this year I will be running 55-60km from the Movement Place Gym in Sundon Park (where I work) to the Emirates Stadium in North London, home to my team the Arsenal Football Club.

I will be running in memory of my Dad, Andy Hooker, who we sadly lost aged just 53 and also a young lad nicknamed ‘Gorgeous George’ Fox who tragically lost his life last year to a Brain tumour following a courageous 11 month battle, he was just 13 years old. George and his family are massive Arsenal fans, just like myself and my Dad, and just like I have so many happy memories of Dad taking me to matches when I was young, I know the Fox family have made so many special memories there with George.

I will be wearing my Arsenal top, with Dad and George remembered on the back, and will be thinking of them both each step of the way which I know will spur me on. Lots of my colleagues from The Movement Place will be supporting me along the way, some of them even cycling and running alongside me for morale.

My aim is to raise as much as I can for Brain Tumour Research, so that more can be done to prevent other families having to live without their children, just like George’s family are right now – I know they are devastated living each day without their little boy. Before George’s diagnosis he was a happy, funny, bright boy, with a fantastic future ahead of him, and all that has been snatched away. Now his Mum, Louise, Dad Matt, older brother Jamie and little sister Issy are broken facing life without him.

I hope you can spare a few pounds, any amount will be appreciated to help raise money for much needed research for what is the biggest killing cancer of both children and adults under 40, more needs to be done to stop the devastation.

Please donate for George and all of those other lives lost, plus those still fighting brain tumours right now. And thank you for supporting me for this special run, and in remembering two very special people, my Dad and Gorgeous George.
