Tom Green's Stem Cell Transplant Fundraiser

Donation protected
Tom Green, a husband, son, father, grandfather, colleague and amazing friend to so many of us, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a bone and blood cancer, on February 6th, 2022. Since then, he has been courageously battling against the odds.

Finally, Tom’s perseverance has paid off, as his numbers have improved sufficiently to commence the next phase of his treatment plan. Starting on April 16, 2024, he will undergo an extensive regimen of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant.

Over the past two years, Tom has endured weekly chemo injections and a plethora of medications, all while managing his diabetes. Despite his unwavering dedication to his treatment, there is no cure for his condition. However, there is hope in the form of a life-extending stem cell transplant, a procedure that comes with a substantial cost not fully covered by insurance.

Tom, known for his self-reliance, finds it difficult to ask for help. That's where his family and friends step in.

Tom urgently requires our assistance to bridge the financial chasm that emerged at the onset of his diagnosis, exacerbated by a gap in insurance coverage. This has resulted in staggering medical debts amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Furthermore, their tenants' non-payment of rent for over 19 months has compounded their financial strain, necessitating costly legal proceedings to reclaim their property.

With his devoted partner Nicki as his full-time caretaker, they will need to reside in Seattle Cancer Care housing for an extended period. This, along with copious treatment expenses, hospital bills, and ongoing monthly household costs, adds up to an overwhelming financial burden. Following treatment, Tom faces a 9 to 12-month recovery period at home.

As Tom embarks on this arduous journey, he relies on the unwavering support of his loved ones.

Your generosity will not go unnoticed. Any contribution, no matter how small, will alleviate some of the burden that Tom and his family bear.

Remember, heroes come in many forms. Some, like Tom Green, don't wear capes but instead don jeans and work boots, embodying resilience and strength in the face of adversity.

On behalf of his family and friends, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for an assistance you can offer. Tom holds a special place in all our hearts.

Multiple Myeloma has taken too many lives, including that of my own father. While a stem cell transplant was not an option for him, it finally is for Tom! Let's help him leverage this incredible gift to extend the quality of his life!

Much Gratitude -
