Tom Ceely’s Medical Expense Fund

Tom Ceely has been my husband for almost 15 years. We met at the beginning of 2009 and were married March 17th, 2010. It’s not always easy to read him, however, once you’re in his circle his humor and quiet caring is the best thing for anyone who has been hurt or is down. This is not the first time Tom has faced a serious medical trial. Family, friends and coworkers from all over have been praying for him and me. Many would also like to help out financially, realizing that as we walk this path, we will be facing significant expenses.

In response to the requests to help out directly, I am setting up this fundraiser to assist as our expenses mount. All gifts given go directly towards the medical bills and living expenses. Tom is currently unable to work and so our income has been halved which is a true hardship. As his wife I encourage you to give as you are able to help our brother in Christ.

Collaborating with Tom’s medical team (Dr. Hoffman cardiologist, Dr. Luce cardiologist, Carrie Dean NP, Amanda Allen NP, Dr. Hartke GI, and Dr. Agarwal hepatologist) the growing concern is while protecting the new liver other organs have been put under stress. Like his heart and his kidneys. Anti-rejection medication can increase the risk of cardiovascular complications and damage kidneys. Which has led us to here. Congestive heart failure and Pulmonary arterial hypertension. One side of Tom’s heart has enlarged and is putting pressure on the other side of it.

Because of these new complications it became necessary to go on three new medications. Remodulin, Adempas and Winrevair. These three have long lists of side effects as well.

The conservative estimate for the medical premiums and co-pays, along with time off work, and living expenses is just under $15,000. This is to help alleviate the stress of paying all of these expenses as well alleviating him of any mental stress of potentially losing his home, vehicle and not being able to be seen by his specialists or get his much needed prescriptions.
