We are travelling to Tanzania on the 29th of July to, firstly volunteer at Enyorata Orphanage & Primary School before beginning our climb of Kilimanjaro (the highest mountain in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain in the world standing at 5,895m or 19,341ft). The climb will take 7 days via the Lemosho route to the summit. Each day on average will involve about 10hrs of hiking through the stunning terrain that Tanzania has to offer. Tom has already visited this school in 2022 as part of a family holiday and his family have since sponsored a pupil at this wonderful school. Vincent Kinga, the man who runs the school, is exceptionally kind and passionate about giving the best opportunities in life to under privileged kids in the local area. The school rapidly expanded from 50 students in 2022 to over 500 as of now. The main purpose of our fundraising is to contribute towards the creation of a new football pitch and netball court. We both feel very strongly about the importance of sport in young children's development and as a means of building friendships and connections. All donations, no matter how big or small, will go a long way to empowering young kids futures at Enyorata and allow kids a chance to expand their horizons and give them the best possible opportunities going forward. We both appreciate anything that you can give to help support this cause as we want to give those with less opportunity the chance to succeed!
