We are Tom and Isaac, students from Loughborough University currently studying abroad at Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics.

This year, we’ve set ourselves a big challenge: running the Lisbon Marathon to raise money for Mind (NAMH), the mental health charity.

Mental health affects us all, whether personally or through those we care about. Yet the statistics are devastating — in the UK, 1 in 2 men will experience a mental health disorder in their lifetime, and suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under 50.

Too often, men suffer in silence. We want to raise awareness that it’s okay to speak out and seek help. That’s why Mind’s work is so vital. They provide advice, support, and campaign tirelessly so that nobody has to face a mental health problem alone.
